RAILS RETURN TO THE STATION

66 years after the original track was lifted rails have returned to Invergarry Station.. By the end of 2014  it is expected that the track will run the length of the platform and connect to a point at the eastern end ready for track laying to platform 2 on 2015.

  1. Hi the plan for the reopened station shows track both sides of the platform which is joined by a point and head shunt at each end. Is the long-term ambition to operate a loco and brake van service running round the platform, or will the rolling stock be just a static exhibit? Also will the proposed station building be a replica of the original? I have been following your progress after reading about the project on the Disused Stations site and would love to make the journey up from Kent one day as Invergarry is a spectacular location. Keep up the good work! Richard
